The Alessi family company
Founded in 1921, Alessi was to produce crafted products in metal for eating and drinking. Giovanni Alessi had two sons. His eldest Carlo Alessi, borne in 1916 was named the chief designer in 1935 at the young age of 19 going on to be the chief executive ten years later. In 1935, several months after Carlo became an executive; his younger brother Ettore Alessi joined the company as a technician. It wasn’t until 35 years later when Alberto Alessi took over the management of Alessi that the company became famous for its creative and unusual designs.
